Windows envy – a rare event
I have rarely suffered from Windows envy. What I mean is that there have been very few occasions where you see a Windows-only application and desperately wish for it to be available on the Mac platform. The last such feeling within me was when Google Earth was launched as a Windows-only app. Thankfully, they soon followed it up with a Mac version.
I am now experiencing a sharp pang of Windows envy: reason, the recently launched Windows Live Writer. I use Mars Edit as my default blogging tool. For a lark, I tried the Windows Live Writer on my office PC and I must say that it beats the pants of any similar Mac application. I quite liked the easy setup, auto detection of blog settings, WYSIWIG approach to blog posts and a host of plugins. Not surprisingly, it’s received rave review from the likes of Om Malik.
